Lots of social gatherings over the weekend? We all know this is one of the toughest places to keep up our healthier habits. The best way to reset after a long (and fun!) weekend?  Filling up on green foods.

Here are a few of the best green foods to make part of your regular routine:

  1. Dark Leafy Greens

Leafy greens like kale, spinach, and collard greens are an especially rich source of the vitamins and minerals your body requires, and if your diet is deficient in these foods, it can be very difficult to lose weight. These greens also provide high concentrations of antioxidants including vitamin C, beta-carotene, and lutein. The darker green a vegetable, the more antioxidant pigments it contains. Not so much into eating dark, leafy greens? Drink 'em

  1. Avocado

With their high fiber content and healthy fats, avocados are one of the winner green foods to include. Ripe avocados will help fill you up without giving you that bloated feeling. They provide you with a good amount of plant-based fiber and nutrients that help improve your brain health and cognitive function.

There's a widespread misconception that avocados are fattening, but the majority of the fat found in avocados is oleic acid, a fatty acid that promotes beautiful skin and hair- not the type of fat that makes your jeans too tight.

  1. Celery

Celery has been getting A LOT of attention lately- specifically, celery juice. Celery juice is the newest viral health craze and it doesn’t look like the trend is slowing down anytime soon. Why? Advocates are raving that this simple tonic is totally banishing their bloat, boosting their energy, making their skin glow, and more!

Drink Celery Juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach as part of your daily routine and experience the benefits for yourself.

  1. Matcha Green Tea

Upgrade your daily caffeine fix! Unlike coffee, which can make you jittery and nervous, matcha green tea provides relaxed, focused energy. This is due to high concentrations of the calming amino acid L-Theanine which slows the release of caffeine and minimizes the crash.

Plus, matcha green tea has 137 times more antioxidants than regular green tea! Most notably, matcha is a rich source of an antioxidant compound called EGCG which can help boost your metabolism. Definitely one of the key green foods to consider if you're on a weight loss journey.

  1. Spirulina

This beautifully hued blue-green algae is an extremely nutrient dense superfood. A small spoonful contains an impressive concentration of micronutrients including B vitamins, calcium, and iron. Spirulina is a fantastic source of antioxidants and plant-based protein. Sprinkle this sea vegetable in your smoothies, salads, soups, quinoa bowls, etc. to increase your daily nutrient intake. You can also try our Daily Super Greens powder for a nice boost of this green superfood.
