Protein Snacks on the Market

To put it lightly, the average store-bought protein-rich snacks are full of processed junk. While they may be high protein, low calorie, low carb, low fat, and whatever other marketing terms companies use to get your dollar, they are NOT at all good for you or your health.

Protein bars and shakes may be “protein-packed”, but with this label they also mix in funky natural flavors, refined added sugars and syrups, gums, highly processed whey and plant-based protein powders, gums, fillers, artificial sweeteners, heavy metals, and preservatives.

The same is true for popular protein snacks on the market like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, egg whites in a carton, and highly processed jerky.

Real Protein From Real Food

Americans are absolutely protein-obsessed, so much so that the ingredient label often gets ignored, which is the most important part of any label (even though many registered dietitians would disagree).

While protein is a vital macronutrient, knowing where your protein comes from is crucial.

Protein from REAL food that is readily available in nature will always be superior to the high-protein brownie concoctions developed in a lab.

If the protein snacks sound too good to be true, they likely are. Protein should come from nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, and high-quality animal fats (if you eat them).

The best protein sources for overall well-being are:

  • Nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews, etc.)

  • Clean nut butters like peanut butter & almond butter

  • Seeds (flax, pumpkin seeds & chia seeds)

  • Beans & legumes (black beans, chickpeas, pistachios, & walnuts)

  • High quality grass-fed, pastured/organic beef & poultry, or wild-caught fish

Functional Ingredients

The biggest lie diet culture tells you is that you have to give up on foods you love to lose weight and stay healthy. This is simply untrue. What diet culture fails to tell you is that you can have your cake and eat it too (as long as the ingredients in the cake are simple).

The reason Raw Generation’s smoothies are so delicious is because we create flavors we know you’ll love, while using functional ingredients conducive to a healthy diet and lifestyle. Each smoothie in our 18-Pack is packed with nutrient-dense ingredients like cashews, dates, and organic cacao, offering a rich source of healthy fats, protein, calcium, and antioxidants to keep you full and energized throughout the day.

We use dates to provide a steady release of energy without the blood sugar crash associated with refined sugars, so you stay energized.

Ingredients like raw cacao and peanuts are rich in magnesium and protein, essential for muscle recovery and growth, making these smoothies perfect for post-workout nutrition.

Additionally, the natural fiber from cashews, dates, fruits, and veggies supports healthy digestion and helps you stay regular, contributing to overall gut health and less bloating.

Versatility

The best thing about the Sweet Treats Dessert Pack is how versatile they are. You can enjoy them as a meal replacement, post workout fuel, or as a dessert.

Here are a couple of dessert recipes I love:

Clementine Creamsicle Chia Pudding

This recipe takes me directly back to my childhood. It’s the perfect blend of citrus and sweet.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Clementine Creamsicle Smoothie (Or any RG smoothie you have on hand)

  • 1/4 cup chia seed

  • Berries or other chopped fruits for toppings

Instructions

  1. Place both ingredients in a mason jar or glass container with a tight-sealing lid.

  2. Stir well and allow to chill in the refrigerator overnight (or 3-4 hours if you want it sooner).

Staying on track can be difficult, especially when you’re deprived of the foods you love. Deprive yourself no more...

Keep your cravings in check with delicious and nutritious high protein sweet snacks without compromising on your healthy lifestyle.
