The unfortunate reality is that workout supplements and powders often resemble science experiments more than food.
Most types of protein powders and dietary protein supplements on the market are filled with chemical ingredients or use dairy-based compounds (whey protein powder, casein protein, etc.) to achieve a certain amount of protein. Many protein powders, even plant-based options, use processed protein isolates and artificial sweeteners that may not align with a whole-food approach.
To mask the unnatural ingredients, these companies often use added sugars or artificial sweeteners to make the flavor acceptable.
