"Who was the guy who first looked at a cow and said, 'I think I'll drink whatever comes out of these things when I squeeze 'em!?" -Calvin, from Bill Watterson's "Calvin and Hobbes"
If you want to maximize your weight loss and improve your health, ditch the dairy. As a generation who grew up on milk, we were taught that “milk does a body good”. But what's the actual evidence telling us? Turns out, we don't adequately absorb the vitamin d and calcium found in milk.
Dairy has been linked to...
- A higher rate of osteoporosis (so much for strengthening bones)
- Acne breakouts
- Digestive issues
- Allergies and nasal congestion
- Weakening hair and nails, and...
- WEIGHT RETENTION
Don't freak out! Despite the persistence of the dairy industry, which deceptively portrays milk as a staple of the human diet, there are plenty of other easy, plant-based ways to get your necessary doses of vitamin D, calcium, and/or protein (leafy greens, almonds, oatmeal, quinoa, lentils, hemp seeds, chia seeds, avocado...shall we go on?).
