Raw Generation, a Long Branch-based company that specializes in wellness products, has moved quickly to launch three new products that are particularly relevant during the ever-changing climate created by the coronavirus pandemic: immunity shots, sanitizer sprays and fresh produce boxes.

Jessica Rosen, co-founder of the company in 2012 with her father, Bill, said the move makes sense for her business and to give the public more options in the fight against COVID-19.

“I think that it’s just good business sense to pivot, if possible, and offer products that are beneficial to people given the extreme nature of what’s going on,” said Rosen, who started the company after health complications in her family inspired her to make a lifestyle change.

"In the entire history of our business, we’ve been all about juices and plant-based beverages. In the last few weeks, we’ve pivoted to include a sanitizer spray (that is also plant-based) and produce home delivery, in addition to all of the other immune boosting beverages we’ve created.

“At this point, our goal is to create as many relevant products as we can that will help our customers stay where they are and have access to fresh (or frozen) fruits and vegetables, not only to keep their immunity up, but also to make staying home a little more enjoyable.”

The immunity shots were launched last week with the first flavor, turmeric and ginger, and have received positive feedback. Two other flavors, pineapple camu camu, and ginger spice, will launch soon. Each bottle will be two fluid ounces. A 37-pack is available on the website for $99, while a 74-pack is available for $149.99.

"We already had our immunity shots in the queue for development but decided shortly after things started to get serious, that we were going to fast-track all immune boosting products so we could get them out to people who need them as soon as possible,” Rosen said.

Sanitizer sprays are available in one scent, which comes from a blend of five therapeutic-grade essential oils. There are two-ounce bottles available in packs of six for $39.99 ($6.67 per bottle) and 12 for $74.99 ($6.25 per bottle). This product is currently in stock and available for immediate shipment and has been the most popular of all of their new products in the past two weeks.

There are two different fresh produce boxes: fruit and vegetable. Each contains 25 pounds of produce, or enough for about 30 servings.

The fruit boxes, though subject to variation, generally contain: red and green apples, avocados, bananas, cantaloupe, grapefruit, lemons, limes, oranges, and pineapple.

The vegetable boxes, which can also vary, typically include: avocados, brussels sprouts, baby and whole carrots, cauliflower, corn on the cob, cucumbers, garlic, red and white onions, green, red and yellow peppers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yellow squash and zucchini. The boxes retail at $69.99 for fruit and $79.99 for vegetables and come with four free bottles of raw, cold-pressed juices.

The boxes were expected to be live on their website Thursday and available for shipment starting Friday, April 3.

“We’ve also been working on a variety of other launches, including Apple Cider Vinegar Daily Elixirs, the first drink on the market with the daily recommended dose of apple cider vinegar," Rosen said. "They taste so good you don’t even know there’s apple cider vinegar in them.

"We also have a few additional immune-boosting products in the queue to launch soon, as we are developing flavored lemon waters, along with three different flavored keto-friendly shakes that are designed to fit within the macro nutrient requirements for anyone who is on a keto diet, or just looking for low sugar, plant-based protein shake options.”

Each product is delivered directly to the doors of consumers, for convenience, ease and peace of mind.

Rosen said Raw Generation is now a multimillion-dollar business, with over 75,000 customers and expected revenue growth of 100 percent this year.

“It’s been business as usual over here." Rosen said. “We feel fortunate enough to be offering products that are really effective in helping people get through this terribly difficult time. We’ve been focused on launching products that are really relevant to alleviating people’s anxieties around their health and not being able to go to the grocery store.

“As terrible as this has turned out to be, it is temporary. We will get to the other side of this, and life will go back to a new normal. The most important thing right now is to keep physically and mentally healthy, while our normal routines are disrupted. As a business owner, I feel fortunate enough that we can continue creating products that people are finding helpful and beneficial.”
