One of the most common questions we get about our juices is, “Why is the sugar content so high?” With all the concerns around excess sugar in our diets being brought to light, this is a valid concern surrounding cold-pressed juices. It’s very important to make the distinction between added/refined sugars and sugars that are naturally occurring in fruit and vegetables.
Refined Sugar vs. Natural Sugar
It's a common misunderstanding that because refined sugars are unhealthy, the same must apply to the naturally occuring sugar (fructose) found in fruits and vegetables. This is untrue!
Refined or added sugar offers NO nutritional value, promotes weight gain, leads to unstable blood sugar and energy crashes, triggers inflammation, and promotes disease.
Raw fruits and vegetables or juices and smoothies made from raw fruits and vegetables are packed with almost all the vitamins, minerals, fiber, enzymes, and other organic compounds that will help contribute to a healthy weight and body, that functions they way it is supposed to. Fruits and vegetables are packaged perfectly by Mother Nature to give your body everything it needs to be healthy, energetic, and maintain a healthy weight.
The naturally occurring nutrients in fruit and vegetables slow the rate at which sugar enters the bloodstream, preventing blood sugar spikes and crashes.
Our Juices & Smoothies
Nothing is ever added to our blends to make them sweeter. They are made with raw fruit and vegetable juices, nuts, seeds, and spices. Because we do not pasteurize or HPP our juices all of the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants are available for your body to easily absorb and help slow down the rate in which the naturally occurring fruit and vegetable sugars enter the bloodstream.
Our juices and smoothies have NO added or refined sweeteners.
Each juice blend is made from raw fruit and vegetable juices, with at least 50% vegetable juice in each bottle. Each smoothie blend is made with nuts, seeds, fruits, and spices.
If you are still concerned, consider drinking our juice as a supplement to your diet full of vegetables, healthy plant-based fats, and plant-based proteins. And if the juices are too sweet for you, feel free to add water to suit your personal palate!
