To Cleanse or Not to Cleanse

There are a lot of questions floating around about cleansing lately.  Is it safe?  Does it work?  Is it super hard to do?  With all the positive claims and conflicting negative press in the media today, people are a mix of extremely interested and extremely confused.  

As a nutritionist, I fully believe in the immense benefits of cleansing and regularly teach this practice to my clients.  Let’s clear some things up.

Why Cleanse at all?  

We live in a world full of toxins, chemicals, and pollutants. Toxic build-up in the body is often the cause of weight gain and disease. Dietary cleansing draws out these toxins, allowing for inner healing and a healthier you.  

Is Cleansing safe?

When done correctly, a raw cleanse is not only safe, it’s beneficial! Instead of counting calories and eating less, a proper cleanse suggests eating super clean foods that the body can purge toxins and wastes that accumulate in organs and in fatty tissue.

Does Cleansing really work?

Yes! Depending on the duration of your cleanse, you can experience a wide range of benefits like weight loss, detox, improved gut health and better sleep! Filling your body with unprocessed, cold-pressed juice can increase energy, mental clarity & stamina. 

Is it super hard to cleanse?

It’s important to remember that cleansing is NOT fasting.  Fasting is the removal of all calories, giving the body a complete digestive break.  Juice cleansing provides adequate calories and nutrients without restriction, allowing you to continue your normal day-to-day functioning. When it comes to juice cleansing, we do all the work! While your body will be working hard to flush out toxins, all you have to do is enjoy a variety of delicious juices.  

Nervous about food cravings?  

Don’t be! All of our cleanses include fresh green juice which is packed with chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is proven to naturally help combat cravings for junk foods.

But I need to chew!

You’ll want to make sure to enjoy plenty of “cleanse-safe” snacking to fill any hunger voids.  Choices like fresh fruits, raw veggies, raw nuts & seeds, and avocado will help to keep you feeling satiated and fully nourished while you cleanse.
