If you want to lose weight, keep it off for good, and optimize your health, it’s essential that you understand if your body is acidic or alkaline, how to alkalize your body and why an alkaline state is so important!
When your body is in an ACIDIC state:
- You feel bloated or like you have a food baby.
- Fatigue has you feeling like you need a nap every day at 3 pm.
- Your skin is dull, dry, itchy, oily, or your breakouts are giving you flashbacks to puberty.
- Negative thoughts plague you. You become irritable and stressed easily.
- You find yourself craving coffee, alcohol, and/or other mood-altering substances.
- Headaches, muscle aches, stiffness, and spasms are all-too-common occurrences.
- Your sinuses are often congested.
Acidic Body = Weight Gain
We exist in a very acidic environment. From pollution to everyday stress, there are many uncontrollable external factors that worsen an unbalanced internal pH.
When there is an excess of acidity present, your body adapts by storing that excess acid in fatty tissue. That's when you start to feel miserable and gain unwanted weight.
In this acidic state, your body tries to compensate by leaching alkaline minerals from other parts of your body. Mineral deficiency can trigger lethargy, weight gain, hair loss, bad posture, premature aging, joint pain, constipation, muscle cramps, osteoporosis and even tooth decay.
In an alkaline state, your body works more efficiently because it is using less energy to neutralize acid in the body. Preserved energy = less exhaustion and food cravings!
How to Get a Healthy Alkaline Body Balance:
All foods promote either an acidic or alkaline state in the body. A diet HIGH in alkalizing foods is essential for promoting healthy weight loss, bringing balance to your body, and feeling your BEST.
The typical Western diet is highly acidic and inherently detrimental to your weight loss, health, and beauty goals. Meat, cheese, wheat, processed foods, and alcohol all shift your body’s pH to an acidic state.
Getting into an alkaline state IS NOT about calorie restriction; IT IS about rebalancing your body to a state that is conducive to weight loss.
The key is: EAT MORE RAW FRUIT AND VEGETABLES- they're ALL alkaline! Most importantly, consume at least one serving of leafy greens each day (green juice, anyone?).
Acid Producing Foods Are:
- Grains with gluten
- Processed sugar
- Artificial ingredients
- Fried foods
- Most cooked foods
7 Highly Alkaline Foods:
- Bell pepper
